Join us for our July edition of the First Take Short Series, as we celebrate the work of area filmmakers, with a diverse lineup of short films. These films will also be paired with a unique local co-feature or co-featurette. Throughout the night you'll also have a chance to hear from the participating filmmakers themselves. Plus be sure to pick your favorite short as we award our Audience Choice winner for July.

l u c i d i t y dir. Rachel Solomon I NJ I 13 min A young woman tries to navigate a new relationship while struggling with PTSD and hallucinations.

I Was A Teen-Aged Space Man From Space dir. Vincent DiCostanzo I PA I 3 min A loving homage to the b-movie genre.

Anything dir. Samantha Duncan I NY I 2 min "Anything" follows the creative process of an artist stuck at home during COVID-19.

The Flower People dir. Charles A. Christman III I PA I 14 min A mother and her son have a chance encounter with a mysterious woman selling flowers. Unaware of the impending danger, her son disappears the next day and becomes a victim of a cult kidnapping.

Are You Still Scared? dir. Grace Conley I PA I 6 min A mixed media portrayal of how fears change as you grow up.

Detective Dad dir. Michael Yazujian I PA I 20 min A comedic D.I.Y. featurette from the madcap brains of the Westfall Connection. Detecive Dad and his infant partner Brienne get trapped inside of a prison filled with the world's most dangerous wizards.
